An Interview with Baharak Malekian – Event Coordinator

An Interview with Baharak Malekian – Event Coordinator

At Church House, we are passionate about holding inspirational events! Our award-winning team, as well as our stunning venue, are the reason for our success.

Baharak has been with us for just over a year, she joined us as maternity leave cover and has since become a well-loved team member and a valuable resource for our clients.

We interviewed Baharak about her time with us so far, and what she enjoys most about working at Church House.

Tell me about yourself and how your journey with Church House began.

I was looking for my next role in events and my friend who happened to work at Church House recommended the venue as her experience with the team has been so positive. An opportunity in the events team came up; I applied for the role and was interviewed. As soon as I saw the beautiful surroundings and met with the rest of the team; I knew this could be a great professional and personal experience for me.. so I was delighted when I was given an offer..and the rest is history!

What do you enjoy most about your work at Church House?

I love working in a role that gives me job satisfaction, as well as getting to work in a team where everyone is so helpful and friendly. My manager; Vedrana (Head of Operations) is incredibly experienced and a great manager – I truly enjoy working with her. I also take great pride in helping our clients achieve their vision for their events – we have some great clients, so I’m always getting to meet interesting and new people.

Are there any events you have worked on that were outstandingly memorable?

I had the privilege of working on two receptions that were of great historical importance to our venue and the country – these were The Late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral reception, and a reception for foreign dignitaries attending the Coronation of King Charles III – I will never forget these events!

What advice do you have for anyone who would like to forge a career in the events industry?

It’s truly enjoyable to see an event that months of planning have gone into; come to fruition and run perfectly – without a hitch! Event planning can be high pressured, so maintaining a calm mind is essential to your success – working with an experienced team is also extremely helpful!
