Equity Release Summit 2022

The Equity Release Summit organised by the Equity Release Council and supported by Legal & General took place on 12 May 2022 at Church House Westminster.

The programme of the Equity Release Summit included keynote addresses by senior politicians and sector leader, along with core plenary sessions focusing on broad issues of interest to the sector.

Attendees were welcomed in the Assembly Hall for registration and refreshments. The circular event space also featured exhibitors, which provided a social space for networking.

Equity Release Council’s chair David Burrowes and Legal & General Retail CEO Bernie Hickman addressed the delegates in the Hoare Memorial Hall, after which the first panel discussion commenced. A fantastic selection of key industry speakers covered a wide range of topics throughout the day which included: Green equity release, Intergenerational gifting and Future of Equity release.

The Rt Hon Damien Green, MP and Chair of the all-party parliamentary group on longevity also addressed delegates at the Equity Release Summit.

Lunch was served in the Assembly Hall during which time attendees could mingle with exhibitors.

Industry session breakouts took place in the Assembly Hall, Convocation Hall and the Bishop Partridge Hall during the day. Topics included Later life lending – health and wealth, A smarter approach to property wealth, Uncovering your client’s long-term thinking, The undiscovered benefits of data enrichment, Reframing equity release for the post-pandemic consumer,
