Last week Elizabeth Marsh Floral Design was delighted to bring their special touch to Church House’s historic Westminster venue interiors. As they set to enhance and embody the venue’s space by dressing fragrant fir trees and adorning garlands, they thought of some essential trips for tree dressing to share with all.

Christmas tree dressing tips

  • Cinnamon & Oranges

Dried cinnamon and orange slices, fastened delicately to your tree with twine or wire, is not only a centuries-old tradition, but it brings a heartwarmingly Christmassy fragrance to your home, beautifully complementing the scent of spruce.

  • Ribbon

A simple yet stunning way to up your decoration game, finding satin ribbons that bring out the colours of your baubles and room is an easy way to spruce up – quite literally – your tree.

  • The Rule of Baubles

Keeping heavier baubles at the bottom and working your way up top with the more delicate decorations prevents your tree from drooping and creates a more full and towering effect.

Elana Kruger, Marketing Manager of Church House Westminster commented: “Liz is renowned in the industry for creative and stunning floral designs, so it felt especially fitting this December, after a muted 2020 Christmas, to approach Liz to transform the Grade II listed building with her unique designer touch featuring an inspiring vision of festive inspiration. The installation of Christmas trees offers a classic take on the season with hints of subtle surprises, which reflects perfectly the iconic style of Christmas parties at Church House Westminster.”.
