Points to consider when planning your summer event

Points to consider when planning your summer event

With the warmer months comes the promise of better weather, plans of dining alfresco & socialising until the sun comes up!

We love summertime and we know many of our guests relish the chance to attend events that capture the essence of the season!

Summer events are often the highlight of a team’s social calendar – so let’s discuss some good points to consider when planning your summer event!

Establish your budget and create your event brief

Creating your event brief means you, your team (and any stakeholders you may have in your process) will all be clear on your event vision and the different aspects that need to be included – remembering the all-important budget!

Choosing your event date

Booking your date months or more in advance is definitely recommended! Summer is a very popular time for events and you will want to make sure you choose a date that the majority of your guests can make – think pre-booked vacations, school holidays and also the need to ensure the suppliers you are using have availability in their diaries!

Choosing the right venue

Make sure the venue you select reflects the type of experience you want to give your guests. After all, you want your guests to be raving about the surroundings and the fun they had at your event!

Grade II listed venues with modern facilities can give your event extra impact – your guests not only get to experience visiting a location where important events in history have taken place, but also get to experience the grandeur of the beautiful architecture, with engraved ceilings, portraits and more!

Considering the British weather is a must – the one thing we can guarantee about our summers – is that you never know what the weather will do on the day!

Choose a venue with both indoor and outdoor space so that guests can move around freely – enjoying fresh air and greenery if the weather is superb, but also move indoors if it’s not. Our Bishop’s Partridge Hall has the perfect mix of indoor and outdoor space, with a terrace that overlooks Dean’s Yard, the perfect outdoor space that provides your guests with the ability to experience the best of both!

Food and Drink

This can make or break your event – the right food and drink sets the stage for an epic fiesta! Think summer-themed cocktails with crisp fruity flavours while sizzling BBQ treats and zesty salads turn up the flavour dial. It’s not just about eating; it’s about igniting those summer vibes! Luckily here at Church House, we have partnered with Searcy’s, Britain’s premier caterer of choice who are experts at producing themed menus and drinks to exceed your guest’s expectations!

Entertainment

What better way for your guests to enjoy themselves, than with live entertainment! Consider what ambience you want your event to have – you may want a live band, solo performances, magicians, dancers (and many more!) at your event. Luckily we partner with Blank Canvas Entertainment, your single best resource for all things entertainment – talk to one of our events coordinators for more details.
