Yes, it’s that time of year again. No, not February (granted, factually accurate. But not what we’re looking for on this occasion). We’re talking about London Fashion Week which will be making its triumphant return to the capital this month from Thursday 20th to Monday 24th.
From bold to unexpected to electrifying, a fashion show is all about making a statement. So, we ask you, what could make a bigger statement than a spectacular catwalk in an event venue as historic as it is unique? (We’re talking about ourselves here. Just in case that wasn’t clear.) After all, a fashion show is a production and, as the host of events including King Charles III’s Coronation reception and an international boxing match (not related), we know a thing or two about putting on a performance.
Now, we promise we won’t upstage the models, but will we give their poise, grace and utter fabulousness a run for their money? Yes, yes we absolutely will.
Confident, you may be thinking. But, you see, we’ve done this before. In September 2024, we hosted the unforgettable fashion show of renowned designer, Priya Ahluwalia. And, while of course we would never brag about what an undeniable triumph the event was, Little Giant Production, the company who organised it, said: “The show was a great success!!! Priya Ahluwalia and ourselves are over the moon with the show and the content we got from it!!!” So, we’re just saying, do you see how many exclamation points they added?
How then can a historic venue enhance an event as already epic as a London Fashion Week catwalk?
Well, shall we start with the setting? Specifically, our Grade II listed Assembly Hall? Built in 1939, and designed by world-renowned architect Sir Herbert Baker, the hall is home to a breathtaking 30-foot glass dome – a mesmerising architectural focal point and a unique feature amongst London event venues. As the dome suggests, our Assembly Hall is round. Not the typical room layout for a fashion show, we’ll admit, but let’s think outside the box here.
Showcasing Priya’s Spring/Summer 2025 Collection, the circular setting allowed for a bigger runway, displaying garments in greater depth and giving audiences more time to experience them in action. Boasting a magnificent private gallery, the additional capacity made fitting extra bums on seats effortless, and exposed the designer’s work to ever-larger numbers of people. Providing sweeping panoramic views of the room below, the gallery was also the perfect location for photographers and videographers to capture incredible footage as the show unfolded. Oh, and did we mention the arched windows which flood the space with natural light to show the designs off to radiant effect?
For a room with a personality as strong and empowering as the collection itself, let us welcome to the stage (or runway, in this case) our Hoare Memorial Hall. Once a home for the House of Commons during the Second World War, Hoare Memorial Hall provided a backstage area with gravitas. From its air conditioning to keep everyone cool as they ran around behind-the-scenes, to its reams of natural daylight that helped ensure models were runway-ready. From its separate breakout room delivering a little privacy when needed, to its elegant oak panelling and Art Deco chandeliers providing a touch of glamour. It had, quite frankly, the confidence of a supermodel.
With our own exceptional in-house Production Team, meeting Priya’s technical needs was easy. State-of the-art sound system? No problem. Live streaming? It would be our pleasure. Lighting? By all means. Big screen with cameras capable of picking up the tiniest of details in the designs? You’re welcome. And that’s without mentioning the exquisite acoustics in the Assembly Hall and the fact it has no sound restrictions. Whatever the brief, our expert team bring events to life in spectacular fashion (see what we did there?), offering the very latest event production technology in bespoke packages tailored to individual needs. In fact, the bolder the brief the better – we relish a challenge (as the aforementioned international boxing match demonstrates).
Now, of course, this isn’t our first rodeo. Having hosted receptions for both her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II’s, funeral and the coronation of King Charles III, we’re no stranger to a VIP event. From fashion royalty to political royalty to actual royalty, and from world leaders to global dignitaries, all have been welcomed through our doors. With this wealth of experience behind us, we can guarantee every high-profile event at Church House will be a coordinated, flawless and polished affair. Almost as much as we can guarantee that double denim should never (and hopefully will never) come back into fashion.
