The Abbey Room - Training venue and meeting room in Westminster, Central London

Enviable venue location

Our convenient location in central London means that we are served by excellent transport links. Church House Westminster is within easy walking distance of both Westminster and St. James`s Park underground stations. We are also near Victoria, Waterloo, Vauxhall and Charing Cross mainline train stations.

Versatile event space

The Abbey Room is located on the ground floor which offers a beautiful view overlooking Dean`s Yard and Westminster Abbey. It is a bright and airy room meaning plenty of natural daylight. The Abbey Room can host up to 25 people in a boardroom style, or a seated dinner for 36 people.

The Abbey Room is adjacent to the Westminster and Herbert Baker Rooms. This makes the room suitable for use as a breakout space in conjunction with the other two rooms. On its own the room is ideal for corporate boardroom meetings, intimate dinners, receptions, interviews, workshops and training sessions.

Outstanding facilities and customer service

The room hire includes a 75” plasma screen, water, mints, pads and pens and Wi-Fi. All our rooms also have red phones which allow our delegates to contact us for any questions or queries on the day. Assembly Hall

The Assembly Hall – Large Conference Centre in Westminster

The largest event room at Church House Westminster is the Assembly Hall which has a theatre style capacity of over 600. The hall is round in shape and has an impressive domed roof and oak panelling.  Designed by world renowned architect Sir Herbert Baker, the Assembly Hall is the impressive centre piece of this central London venue. The room is split over two levels a capacity of 468 on the lower level and 132 in the gallery, which runs around the whole room. On the gallery level there are 15 arched window giving natural daylight, alternatively the room can be darkened if required.

The Assembly Hall was originally built to hold the General Synod, the legislative body of the Church of England. Today Church House Westminster is one of London’s most popular conference and events venues with 19 versatile event spaces.

The Assembly Hall is not only the largest event space in the venue but also the most flexible. As a meeting and conference room, the Hall can seat up 600 people theatre style over the two levels. For a cabaret style meeting the capacity is 208 on round tables with a maximum of 8 delegates per table.

The room can also accommodate large drink receptions for up to 500 guests. The design of the round room with its eight entrances is perfect for the serving of drinks and canapes, assuring that all guests are served promptly. With a dining capacity of 372 the multi-entrances also assure a smooth service for dinner.

All events within the Assembly Hall are supported by our excellent in-house audio visual team. While the building itself has huge historical interest, the technical infrastructure is among the best in London, and nowhere is this more apparent than in the Assembly Hall. Two Ultra HD 4K projectors throw out crystal clear images onto a variety of different screen set ups, while a state of the art D&B sound system provides the highest quality sound. With four fixed remote cameras and a video cast encoder permanently installed web streaming of any event is available.

The Assembly Hall is most often used as a dinner dance venue and award ceremony venue. Since Church House Westminster first opened in 1990 it has played host to a variety of different special events, the largest of which have all featured the Assembly Hall. These have included fashion shows and catwalks for London Fashion Week, political hustings and public debates, wine tastings and live concerts. The Assembly Hall is also a popular Christmas party venue, exhibitions venue, product launch venue and AGM conference venue.

The Bishop Partridge Hall - Conference venue and meeting room in Westminster, Central London

The Bishop Hall Partridge Hall is without a doubt one of the most popular rooms within Church House Westminster. With views over Dean’s Yard and Westminster Abbey from the stunning stone balcony, the room offers both an indoor and outdoor atmosphere. Inside the beautiful event space, there is classic oak panelling and an elegant stucco ceiling, which give the space an overall feel of quality. Whilst outside the balcony is the perfect extension to any event, allowing guests to enjoy drinks and take in the stunning views across the amazing courtyard of Dean’s Yard, one of London’s best kept secrets.

As one of the most frequently booked halls within Church House, the Bishop Partridge Hall can be used for a wide range of events, either stand alone or in conjunction with the other rooms within the venue. Breakfast meetings accompanied by a buffet serving a full English breakfast can be the perfect way to start the day and is a popular choice. While a seated lunch either at round tables of 10 or 12, or a more formal long banqueting table for up to 40 guests are also a favoured option for this beautiful room. However, when it comes to fine dining the most popular option is dinner. The evening would often start with guests enjoying their pre-dinner drinks on the balcony while taking in the views of Westminster Abbey. Guests would then be treated to either a three or four course dinner of the highest quality, prepared by our experienced in-house catering team. For a seated lunch or dinner, the Bishop Partridge has a capacity of 90 on round tables of 12 or 40 on a long table down the centre of the room.

Evening receptions are another popular option, and this versatile event space can accommodate up to 150 guests for cocktails and canapes. With delicious bowl food menus also an option for an evening or a lunchtime event, clients can choose for an extensive list of canapes, finger food or bowl food - all included in our menu selector.

The Bishop Partridge Hall is also perfect for those looking for meetings and conference venue. With a theatre style capacity of up to 120 delegates it can be used for either for the main plenary session or as a breakout room for a larger event.  Using the room cabaret style allows for up to 56 delegates on round tables of 8. While boardroom style has a capacity of 40. Audio visual packages, provided by our in-house AV team are available and include HD projectors, screens and stage sets, as well a high-quality D&B sound system.

The Bishop Partridge Room is a beautiful and versatile space and has also been used for AGM’s, and as a special events venue for press conferences, fashion shows and as a film location. It is one of 19 rooms within this central London venue, but because of its outdoor space on the balcony and the amazing views it remains one of the most popular.

An atmospheric blend of elegant stucco ceiling, traditional oak panelling and a stunning stone balcony with views of Dean's Yard and Westminster Abbey, the Bishop Partridge Hall is one of our most popular rooms. Hoare Memorial Hall

The Hoare Memorial Hall - Conference venue in Westminster, Central London

Steeped in history, the Hoare Memorial Hall has a stately atmosphere and played host to the House of Commons for a period during the Second World War. Its elegant oak-panelling, Art Deco Chandeliers, built-in stage and gallery gives the room a strong personality.

The hall is often used in conjunction with the Assembly Hall as a break our space for a large conference or as a catering space. It is also used standalone for all styles of events.

The Hoare Memorial Hall is a perfect space for a meeting or a conference, it has a theatre style capacity of 270, with 220 seats on the lower ground floor and 50 seats on the gallery. For a cabaret style meeting the capacity is 104 on 13 tables of 8 delegates. However, boardroom capacity is a maximum of 55 delegates. All styles can be used either for a main plenary session or as a breakout room from a larger event. Audio visual packages are also available for this room, including screen, stage and D&B sound system.

Evening events are very popular in the Hoare Memorial Hall, the events space can accommodate 250 for a standing reception, which can be accompanied by many delicious menu options from our in-house catering team, including bowl food, canapés and finger food.  For a seated dinner guests can choose from either a three or four course dinner, and the capacity for a seated lunch or dinner is 150 people.

This versatile space has also been used for Christmas parties, seminars, press conferences, filming and many more events

One of our smaller spaces, the Jubilee Room is 25 square metres and is situated next to the popular Bishop Partridge Hall and can be used as an additional room for a larger event. The Robert Runcie Room offers a spacious yet intimate setting for up to 120 guests for a standing reception or 60 guests for a conference.

This room is located on the lower ground floor and situated directly below the Harvey Goodwin Suite by means of a private connecting staircase, which makes it possible to be used as a catering room, or as a breakout room for team-building sessions and training seminars or as a pre-dinner reception area when hiring the Harvey Goodwin Suite as the dinner venue.

Most often used on its own, the Robert Runcie Room is the perfect venue for smaller meetings and conferences, seating up to 60 delegates theatre style and 48 cabaret with 6 tables of 8 delegates. The Robert Runcie Room seats up to 70 for a buffet lunch or 120 for an evening reception.
