Church House Westminster is very proud to announce its partnership with British caterer and restaurateur, Searcys, for the provision of catering services across the venue in a seven-year contract.
Searcys will be bringing its 175 years of expertise in hospitality and events to cater across the venue, from meetings and banquets to receptions, wedding breakfasts, awards, and hybrid events. Menus will showcase the best of seasonal produce from the British Isles, with a variety of packages running from breakfast to afternoon tea and fine-dining experiences. Church House follows a rigorous sustainability agenda for the building, including a drive to be a net-zero building by 2030. Awarded a three-star accreditation from the Sustainable Restaurant Association, Searcys will support Church House in this mission. This will include sourcing produce from local suppliers, offering plant-based choices, reducing food waste across its menus, and minimising its carbon footprint with ingredient swaps and sustainability training for staff on site.
Located in Westminster within Dean’s Yard, Church House is a Grade II listed, multi-purpose event venue set across three floors and is home to 19 meeting and conference spaces, along with a virtual studio. Part of The Corporation of Church House charity, first established in 1888, the event venue is a trading subsidiary for the corporation. With striking oak panelling, stone walls and feature windows, the venue is steeped in history with a rich heritage and notable links to royalty, the United Nations and parliament.
Blending history with modern technology, event spaces include the large Assembly Hall, designed by architect Sir Herbert Baker with a striking 30-foot glass dome and space for 550 guests, the stately Hoare Memorial Hall, once used to host the House of Commons in the Second World War, and the modern Harvey Goodwin Suite, complete with web-streaming and live broadcasting facilities. The venue also offers a fully equipped virtual studio, ideally suited for immersive live experiences, broadcasts, hybrid events and TV production.
Stephanie Maurel, CEO of The Corporation of the Church House says “As Church House Westminster works towards its net-zero goal by 2030, it was imperative for us to find a catering company which fits with our values. With roots dating back to 1847, Searcys is a proud British company with heritage, quality and service at its heart, aligning perfectly with our vision for the venue. With a proven track record at generating revenue and new business, we are delighted to have Searcys onboard for a long-term partnership founded on shared vision and culture.”
