Church House Hosts London Marathon Celebrations for several Charities
On the 23rd of April 2023, we were honoured to host receptions for the runners, friends and family of several charities, – individuals of whom were running to raise funds for several charities.
The British Heart Foundation, Sarcoma, The Children’s Society, and The Brain Tumour Charity chose Church House as their marathon reception venue, due to our ideal location, transport links and award-winning service.
The London Marathon 2023 was one of the most exciting and thrilling marathons in recent years. With the addition of a new course; and a focus on sustainability, this year’s marathon left a lasting impression on runners and spectators alike.
The new course began at Greenwich Park, before heading through the heart of London, making its way to Tower Bridge and the iconic London Eye; before heading to The Mall and Buckingham Palace – with Church House just a stone’s throw away!
The course was also designed to be as sustainable as possible, with the use of green energy, and the introduction of eco-friendly water stations, – clearly the organisers were as passionate about sustainability as we are at Church House.
This year’s London marathon was also the first of its kind to offer a virtual race, allowing runners from all over the world to take part in the event.
Congratulations to everyone who participated yesterday – raising funds for worthy causes! We were pleased to play a key part in the celebrations, providing the ideal setting for the runners and their loved ones to celebrate their personal wins, as well as the funds they raised to help those in need. As you will see from the pictures below, the day was very high energy, and full of emotion. We were glad to give the participants the post-marathon celebration they deserved!
