The Financial Services Forum hosted the Awards for Marketing Effectiveness 2021 at Church House Westminster on 23 November.

2021 is a landmark year for the Awards for Marketing Effectiveness, which is celebrating 20 years of recognising the most outstanding marketing campaigns in financial services.

Awards entries are are open to financial services brands and organisations, or their agencies, worldwide. All discipline-specific activities compete equally – a small regional promotion has as much chance of winning as an international multi-execution campaign. Entrants can also choose to enter sector-specific categories to showcase marketing best practice in key parts of the financial services industry.

Guests arrived for a welcome reception in the Hoare Memorial Hall, followed by the awards ceremony which took place in the Assembly Hall.

The hosts presenting on the evening were Ian Henderson, Chief Executive Officer of AML Group, and Matt Dawson, Sports Personality and TV Presenter.

The keynote speaker was Pete Markey, Chief Marketing Officer of Boots, who took to the virtual stage to give his thoughts on what’s to come in the marketing world in 2022.

Fellow Marketer of the Year Alumni, Mark Evans (Direct Line), Raj Kumar (Aviva UK) joined Pete Markey on stage in celebration of #20YearsofME.

The evening featured two musical performances on stage, the first was the cast of Les Miserables, and the second act, The Jersey Boys. The two West End Musicals were especially well-received considering the challenging past months for the performing arts industry.

Sarah Cohen, Genie Agency, commented: “The team of Church House has been exceptionally helpful, amenable, and professional. From the very first call with Marina, who made the negotiations and the delivery of the contract seamless and easy for us. Leah was excellent, an absolute pleasure to work with – organising everything from the food tasting, accommodating all our requests, and arranging the site visits. The food was phenomenal, we have had a plethora of clients and guests raving about it. Please pass on our thanks to your talented Chef and the catering team. But not just the food! The service! We cannot thank David and his team for such exceptional service, there were no delays, just superb, collaborating with our team members to create an incredible service for the guests. We cannot thank the technical team enough, Bradley, he was an absolute pleasure to deal with, every request we had was arranged, even the very last-minute techs, nothing was a problem. This made my job so much easier! He was there on-site, on-call, so lovely to work with a fellow production seasoned professional. Really outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble for Henry and he executed and he worked with precision. Ben took on board our lighting brief and the lights looked fantastic, he listened and followed all our instructions perfectly. Please thank Tony for stepping last minute to vision mix – he did a great job. Our clients are looking at rebooking already! It was an absolute pleasure to work with every single member of your team. We have all worked in a lot of venues over the years in central London, but the Church House is by far the best we have had the pleasure to work in. We will be highly recommending your venue and catering to all our future clients.”.
